Reviews about the game

Slash It Ultimate30.10.2017

I'm going to go ahead and give you my unbiased opinion on this one as typing/rhythm games are personally not my thing. There is no denying that this game excels in what it is trying to do though, plus it's a huge improvement on its predecessors, as Slash It 1 and 2 are quick cash grabs geared only towards your run of the mill achievement sl*ts (example: ME!). Just 1337 have gone and made an actual game this time! You have the previous alphabet, number, and word modes. This time round you also have a single button/space bar mode, arrow keys mode (a bit like DDR on the keyboard), a cube mode (which involves you navigating a virtual cube along a track jumping & dodging obstacles), and a mouse mode. A library of music instead of the same repetitive track. Leaderboards, a multitude of languages, the ability to switch between normal, and hard difficulties, a money system (giving you incentive to play better for more money), and some crisp new visuals with a fancy new HUD to go with as well. It's like this is what Slash It wanted to be all along except got scared and went with the safe option of cashing in on those easy achievement games... None the less we got here eventually!

At first I wanted to give it a "Thumps up" but after playing for a while and testing all modes my answer if I would recommend it is clearly no. But now to clarify my opinion. Pro: + Achievments. I am one of those people that love to collect them and feel a sort of achievment if I get one while playing + A lot of diffrent modes that sound and look promising. (reminds me a little of osu) + I somehow like the look of it. I am normaly not into flashy games but in this it is a mix of osu and guitar hero in my opnion. + Nice ranking system which allows you to earn coins fast and even with the same song. Con: - You have to buy nearly everything. At the beginning you got 1 Song (which I liked at first) but you have to earn coins to buy diffrent modes and other songs. - Like I mentioned before you can easy earn coins from even the same song, but for a while you will only have 1 or 2 songs to play and after a while you cant hear the same song anymore without going crazy. - Not a big song collection if you dont buy the DLCs. - Some gamemodes are just ridicously hard. I tried every gamemode and every song and even the easiest one is way to hard even on "NORMAL" mode. And sometimes it doesnt seem to register my action. Be it the mouse, the space or even the typing from numbers & letters. I bought it with a coupon 75% off and without it I wont recommnd it. If you want to play a game simmilar to osu to train yourself and your mentality get it if it is on discount without it is a waste even tough it isnt that expensive. I woulndnt buy it again. Could be promising but not with the bugs in some game modes

Initially, I thought that this game was going to be a flop. This in part to the fact that it looked like it had a bunch messy graphics, hundreds of achievements (which some would say is meant to be a way to basically charge for achievements that you don't have to actually put any effort into) and small number of reviews. I've always been a fan of DDR, and Slash it ultimate reminded me of it as well. So after playing it for about 30 minutes and figuring everything out, I've gotta say that I'm amazed and ultimately hooked. The most notable surprises to me, were for example: how in the arrow mode, you could consider it easy, but you basically have to watch all rows, because there is no one row that the arrow keys are specifically set on and this was a very subtle and easy way to trick the player into accidentally pressing something else. Another example would have to be the typing mode, where you type out the words in a certain amount of time (this is what I had been doing at first), but I had come to learned that in addition to meeting the time constraints for each word, that you had to keep the rhythm of the song AND pay attention to the outter lines of where other words were starting to float in. Pair these surprises with the fact that there is a TON of content to unlock with the game, and you get a very reasonably priced and well polished game. -Update and Further thoughts as of 2/10/2018- Having earned every single achievemnent, I can say that this game has gotten pretty addicting, and overall challenging. Most of the challenge rests in the cube, space, and number modes. At times, it did feel as though the songs were out of sync with the cube, space and numbers, but overall, it didn't impede my gameplay. The only mode that impeded my gameplay, would have been that of the number mode. For some reason (and I'm not sure if this was because of latency issues), the numbers would stop floating out of the portals and continuously collect and become jumbled at the bottom of the screen, to the point where I had to restart the game.

100% the best Slash It game so far! Again great music, more levels, perfect chosen achievements and just addicting as hell! Completed it to 100% in 3 days and i don't regret it. If you are into electronic music + rhythm games, this is very recommendable! Moreover it will become very cheap in the nearer future. - TLDR: 10/10
