Description

Hunter's Arena: Legends Information

About the Game
Overview

In ancient Asia, once existing peace was shattered by Demons set free by unknown power.

Sensing great danger, Hunters around the world gathered as one to stop the spreading chaos.

However, the Hunters soon found out that none other than one of their own, a Hunter, has broken the seal and released the Demons into the world.

With no one to trust, the Hunters must now fight off demons as well as point blades at each other.

Art of Timing and Decision Making

Hunter’s Arena’s combat system resembles fighting action of a martial arts film. The core gameplay centers around aerial combos against enemies and decisively countering your opponent to turn the fight around.

There are many ways to get around and stay on top of your enemies.

Use Quickstep at the right moment to bring the fight to your pace or use Martial Arts to neutralize enemy guard.

However, there are always high risks to using these abilities. Being countered while using Martial Arts could instead put you in a Groggy state and using Quickstep away from your enemies could leave you prone to enemy projectiles.

Threats of PvP and PvE

Hunter’s Arena is designed to provide a one of a kind experience in a Battle Royale. Being said, you will encounter both PvP and PvE elements in your gameplay. For fans of PvE, you will be able to explore dungeons and slay boss demons to loot rare items and grow stronger. For fans of fast paced PvP battles, you can hunt other Hunters to level up and prove yourself as the ultimate Hunter.

In Trio Mode, you will team up your friends or other players in a team of three to achieve victory. You will enter the arena in Trio to show off your teamwork or spread out to scout enemies. It all comes down to planning strategies and working as a team in Trio Mode.

Ultimately, your goal in Hunter’s Arena is to survive. Therefore, going straight into a life or death battle could not always be the best strategy. Hide in a bush and wait for the right time to ambush or Drop Strike from higher grounds to deal massive damage to unsuspecting enemies.

We look forward to your personalized strategies.

Unique Hunters with Powerful Weapons

You will be able to choose from 17 unique Hunters each time you enter the arena.

Each Hunter has a distinct combat style and is a master of Eastern swordplay and powerful spells. Try customizing your Hunter and show off your style in battle with countless weapon skins and emotes.

A Deadly Battle Towards Last Man Standing

Prove yourself as the ultimate Hunter by surviving in this treacherous world. In Hunter’s Arena, you can temporarily team up with your enemies to hunt boss demons which can soon turn into a deadly battle for rare loot. Conquer the arena to survive as the last remaining Hunter.

Reviews about the game

Hunter's Arena: Legends19.07.2020

Let me start by saying that, for what it is, the game is great. How ever, it has A LOT of jank that needs to be worked out. Pros: *Fantasy combat Battle Royale, that isn't just fantasy-guns like Realm Royale. This is actual melee combat with skills. *The combat is amazing - at first glance. *The game looks pretty. *Using a non-traditional BR system, such as closing on specific areas, rather than whole chuncks of the map, to keep the genre feeling fresh. *It's pretty. *Class based gameplay, but this is currently more negative than positive. *MOBA style leveling and planning system (note that there is no "gear" builds, there are simply items that are explicitly better, so I wont call gear-farming a positive or negative, and simply include it here.) Cons: *Class based gameplay, with an extremely limited number of characters. *Classes are horribly imbalanced. *The Combat system has lots of jank to it. It feels smooth, and at first you'll think it's amazing, but once you start to learn the system and fight players it raises a lot of weird ass questions. Refer to ** for sub notes on combat. ** The game is full of infinite combos; if you can stun lock some one, you can immediately 100 to 0 them. That said, there is a skill that breaks you out of infinite combos, but it's cool down is a full 150 seconds. That's TWO AND A HALF MINUTES. I get that it needs a long cool down for some sembalance of balance, but it should be 30 seconds max. This long ass cooldown constantly leads to two people fighting, and then a 3rd person coming in and automatically winning against the last man standing purely because their escape is on cooldown. **The entire combo system, tbh. There are "martial arts" which are basically heavy attacks, that exist PURELY to break people out of guards. Typically, you hold left click to block; if some one is blocking, you right click to use a "martial arts" to break their guard. If the person being attacked sees the martial arts coming, and they right click before your MA lands, they parry and it opens the attacker up for a combo. This would be an amazing system of skill, if not for the sub-issue of this sub-issue. **Martial Arts are entirely pointless, as light attacks will eventually break the other person's guard, anyway. The only time it's EVER worth using Martial Arts is in Tag Matches (basically 1v1 matches and not actually BR) because there is a short time limit and who ever did the most damage wins, thus you have to take risks to not be timed out. But in the actual game, there's no reason to do this, as if you just keep spamming left click, the target's guard will eventually break no matter what, meaning there's NO reason to ever use Martial Arts, since all it does is give the person defending a chance to parry. This is the biggest flaw in the game, as the entire combat system is built around guarding. Light attacks need to simply NEVER guard break, or the entire core of the game is a useless mechanic that no one smart will use. *A lot of characters are inherently useless; all of the ranged characters are actually melee, but CAN attack at a slight range; but their martial arts skills are all purely melee, so for the combat system to work as intended you have to be in close range anyway; some of the characters marked as range also get the weakness of being a ranged character (less over all damage, and less health) but don't even HAVE ranged attacks. Namely, Yoo what ever the fuck, the newest character. He looks dope though. *The opposite is also true; some of the characters are ABSURDLY tanky, but for some reason also do huge amounts of damage, and have the easiest infinite combos. The panda, for example, literally has a skill that's a like 30 second combo string, that does crazy damage, and if you get hit by the first hit of it, you cannot block the rest of it because it's a skill and if you take skill damage you can no longer block for some reason. This does apply to all skills, not just the panda, but the panda is the only one I'm aware of that has a skill this absurdly overpowered. It makes some character's ults look useless. I'm sure there's more that I could say, but all-in-all I can't recommend this game. For it's price tag, maybe it's worth trying it for like 1.5 hours to see if you like it enough to put up with how awful the combat is and how poorly balanced the game is, but definitely refund ASAP if you even slightly think it's not for you. That said, I REALLY want this game to do well, the combat, while basically broke and at a point where different aspects of it make it's main purpose entirely redundant, is very fun. The game is pretty. The premise over all is amazing. Right now, I'd give it about a 4/10, but if the combat is fixed to be better balanced and more viable, that could easily jump to an 8/10. But hey, what do I know? Maybe the issue is the fact that the dev is Chinese, and there's zero localization out side of English text. Maybe this is just the standard for gameplay over there, and it's just a matter of localizing it to have what a westerner would consider good combat. Either way, the fact that the game is built around Martial Arts/Blocking being the entire core of the gameplay, yet another system makes Martial Arts completely invalid, is a huge turn off. Plus, that escape skill. Really? Over 2 minutes? Did I mention if you get knocked back or airborne, it becomes impossible to block/counter, and thus the escape skill is actually REQUIRED to survive infinite combos? But it has over a 2 minute cooldown? Ok sorry, done ranting. Smh. Edit: TLDR: The combat system relies on guarding and parrying, but because of a combat system being well thought out, but poorly executed, the entire parry system is pointless, because simply never using the intended guard break mechanic means you can never be countered. This is 90% of the combat being thrown out, and it almost entirely devolves into who ever lands the first wins, with only about 20% of the fight being dictated by skill, 20% being the first person to escape (mentioned below) and the other 60% pretty much being who lands the first hit. I've literally had 1v1 matches where I fight the same person, and 1 match they utterly demolish me without me fighting back, and then me doing the same thing to the same person next match. The second most important part for the TLDR is that there are absurdly long infinite combo strings that are easy to do, and 100 to 0; which brings us to the escape-skill that's the 2nd core of combat. The problem with this, is the escape skill has an over 2 minute long cooldown, and fights only last about 30-45 seconds, which basically means the first person to use the escape skill is screwed.

Not sure what the negative reviews are about, Most people dont like to look at things in perspective. This is a new developer and this is their first game being put out, and with that being kept in mind the game is actually very good. but most importantly IT WORKS! I cant tell you how many multi billion dollar companies put out games that are poorly optimized garbage (blizzard). This game does have its bugs obviously, but most are fairly rare. nothing that cant be patched out as long as people are reporting it. But i REALLY want to emphasize the optimization of the game. I experience zero lag, no rubber banding, no input lag, and no random disconnects. In terms of PvP combat, this game plays better in PvP than any other MMO that has mass PvP or open world PvP. This includes tera (especially tera), BDO, BnS, etc. There IS some quirkyness tho that happens when chasing and tagging a enemy down. Attacks from melee seem to hit when they shouldnt hit, but thats honestly the only weird thing ive noticed thus far and its not anything to rage about considering you can not flee from fights anyway since the opponent will eventually catch up to you through the wind current mechanic. That leads me talk about the game mechanics itself. Im not going to lie, initially it does feel clunky and takes getting use to. I warrant that all to the fact that the game is tring something new and its its own thing. It plays most closely to a fighting game but not nearly as complex in the execution of your combos. You look for openings and you try to open up your opponent in order to set up a full combo. The clunkyness comes from the different abilities you have to manage. The abilities are set up like a moba. You have a passive, and 5 abilities to manage. in BR mode You also have the addition of Fkey items which i absolutely HATE in any video game as well as inventory and a mastery tree if you are playing BR mode. All of this is alot to manage, and if you are coming from a MOBA the ability keys not being on QWER will feel very weird, HOWEVER you get use to this fairly quickly if you put in the work. After playing and practicing a few hours You should get the feel of managing everything. Everything flows into itself fluidly. Comboing feels very natural and you can change your input keys in settings if you need to. (Edit: i use to think the ultimate wasnt very good, but playing the game more You just use it differently from typical ults/supers in other games. It has alot of useful applications). Im not going to get into balance too much except for one very obvious thing. Tau, the panda, is too good. No im serious, look at the damage on his abilities. then go test what his abilities do. Its actually too fucking good. For non game mechanic related stuff, such as long ques, low BR player count, or long BR fill times that mostly has to do with a low player base. As i said at the start of this post, the game is new, the devs are new, people are skeptical. No one is really willing to sacrifice $20 to test a new game concept on BR with the only other game with a similar style being shadow arena (this game is better than shadow arena 100%). The only thing that can fix that is time and game exposure. Personally o consistently get 30-40 players in my BR games, but it takes awhile for it to fill up. This game has ALOT of potential, and i do mean ALOT. There is even a fully functional replay system for the BR mode. its 100% up to the devs to not fuck it up tho and Do everything in their power to gather a playerbase. I see games like this all the time that have AMAZING potential to be a good game, but the player base just is not their which forces the game to shut down. and this is almost always due to the fact that the devs did not do enough to promote the game. Duelyst being the most recent to come to mind. This game is good and i cant recommend it enough, the only thing holding it back is a playerbase.
