I would recommend this DLC to any person who fell in love with the original game. The DLC adds great espionage plot, new area - Dogtown, the spaceport, new skill tree and some new weapons and cyberimplants. Also there are 10 new handwritten gigs from Mr. Hands that contain some lore and tough choices(tbh there are also a lot of tough choices in DLC's storyline). The Dogtown itself is a big area near Pacifica with colonel Kurt Hansen and his PMC Barghest. During the storyline and additional missions you will get to know both the colonel himself and the group better. Spent ~43 hours enjoying the DLC. Loved Cassel twins (Aurora<3) There are no happy endings in Night City/

The amount of work behind this story expansion should be hardly appreciated despite the quality of the game at release. Incredible story combined with 2.0 update and newest ray-tracing technologies creates a very enjoyable experience. Must play.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty19.12.2023

Phantom Liberty is the expansion for open world RPG Cyberpunk 2077, where player character “V” is hired to rescue the NUSA president from the Dogtown district of Night City, in exchange for a potentially priceless reward. This review relates to both the new expansion content, and the other changes featured in the 2.0 update.
Gameplay
• The new skill trees are a significant improvement compared to the original versions, which allowed me to create a clearly defined character build. • While primarily attacking from range with assault rifle and SMG, I acquired double jump and air dash skills which provided incredible movement for evading enemy attacks, with a katana equipped to finish off enemies who got into melee range. • I also made extensive use of netrunner skills, disabling enemies by blinding them and jamming their weapons, while also using various damage dealing hacks, and remote detonating explosive canisters. • Vehicle combat feels a bit janky. Its tough to drive and shoot at the same time without crashing in heavy traffic, especially when enemy vehicles are behind the player. However, its worth mentioning that I hate vehicle combat in every game, so it could just be me. Thankfully it doesn’t happen often during main quests. • In addition to the main story, the expansion adds a few more side quests and gigs.
Story
• Phantom Liberty’s story is very well written and features several interesting characters, including the president, a spy, a netrunner, and the leader of Dogtown. • Voice acting is excellent for all of the main characters, with Idris Elba’s Solomon Reed being the highlight. There’s also plenty of new content involving Keanu Reeves’ Johnny Silverhand. • The expansion storyline features a couple of tough choices which lead to multiple endings.
I chose to focus on V’s original reason for taking the job.
• Story pacing is sometimes interrupted by the nature of the open world game design.
Technical
• Length of the expansion is difficult to judge because I played it in the middle of a full replay of the original game. Using CD Projekt’s Witcher 3 as a comparison, Phantom Liberty doesn’t have the incredible scale of Blood and Wine, but it feels bigger than Heart of Stone. • The current version of the game isn’t completely stable, as it crashed to desktop with no error message on 5 occasions. However, this was over the course of 80 hours of gameplay. I never lost any significant progress thanks to frequent autosaves. • The expansion is more demanding / less optimised than the base game. Outside Dogtown my PC ((i7-12700K, 32GB DDR4, RTX 3080) can maintain a constant 60 FPS at 1440p with raytracing enabled and DLSS set to quality mode, but when I enter Dogtown the framerate immediately drops into the 40’s. Switching DLSS to balanced gets it back to a stable 60. This isn’t the end of the world for me, (the graphics are so detailed overall that I would need to be shown side by side screenshots to understand the difference in picture quality), but it could affect older PCs more.
Recommendation
Phantom Liberty’s excellent story makes it a must play for Cyberpunk fans. And if you’ve not played the game at all yet, the improvements made in the 2.0 update mean there’s never been a better time to start.
