Reviews about the game
***EDIT*** The Developer has basically changed everything that I complained about! The weapons feel better, quicker to rearm, more game modes and maps. He is updating and seems to be generally interested in feedback. Also when I revisited this game, I looked at the price tag and I have changed my mind. For the price, it’s pretty fun. I still think this would sit better on a mobile but if you want a game to maybe kill 10 minutes on for not much money then you could do worse. Hope he keeps updating, developing and adding more! Please see original review below I've loved arcade Helicopter games since going back to the days of Desert Storm on the Mega Drive. So when I saw this hit Early Access I added it to my wish list and waited for it to hit the store, I’ve now picked it up and well its rather unimpressive. However, for the price its hard to be too overly critical as its the price of semi decent mobile game these days. Let’s start by saying the controls have being improved which was one of my issues when I was looking through the reviews of the games. A very simple go up, go down, move concept. The flying physics and visuals are pretty simple, in my short playthrough I saw lots of clipping, my units just standing around getting shot etc. The weapons are pretty bland too, not too much in the way of feedback or punch Its major problem is the core gameplay is just boring, killing wave after wave of repetitive enemy types, which are for some reason mutants who can drive tanks, cars and fire guns, I didn't play it long enough to find out if they had learnt to fly. My biggest gripe was the refilling of ammo which you have to land at base and it takes a fair amount of time to fill up, making the gameplay even SLOWER. Now to be fair to the Dev this doesn't seem like an asset flip, they have responded when people said the controls were bad and the pricing structure is about at the moment what’s it worth. For this title to work, it needs to be fun, more explosions, faster reloading, more feedback on weapons. Forget the semi-realistic feel of it, go arcade and have some fun with it! Since I couldn't find ANY videos I recorded one so check it out below. https://youtu.be/Jdu0W07YCTw
Basic defence game a little fun but becomes boring pretty quick. I only recommend if you like simple shootum up or even helicopter games and thats only on a sale.
probably one of the aerial destruction based games of all time
I bought this 2 years ago, played at 1080p, and gave up due to the lacklusture graphics. Two years later and now playing at 4k. Vast improvement! Played through 1st senario, and great. Great smashie up with guns gameplay, but some annoyances as enemy tanks would blow up and down upside down, making them difficult to see, but the game wants them destroyed, but how can you destroy things very hard to see? N'er mind, I played on, fun but with annoyances, but still fun... Got to mission three; Arrhhhhhh! Enemy troops are camoflauged, but can be seen because of their tracer bullets. But they only have a limited ammo, and once they run out of ammo, you can't really see them. Same for tanks! So you have to fly up and down the map, loads of times trying to find the one unit left that you can't see until you're right next to him, to destroy it. Thats not the worst part though, oh no! Mission three requires you to liberate a town, then secure some missiles located in a barn. No instructions on how to secure the missiles. You can't leave your helicopter, and so the only way to see whats in the barn, is to blow it up. Then the game ends because you blew it up! Arahhhhhhhhhh! Waste of time! Update: I landed the helo where the developer sarcasiticaly says I should, and nothing happened. Which just goes to demonstrate what I said in my review, namely that there are hidden enemies that you can't see that are impossible to find that you can't kill so the game can't progress, making the game unplayable and useless. I totally regret buying this!
Look, I don't want to seem like I'm just being a hater, but this game is literally not fun at all and I'm really bummed I have to play way more than half an hour to get all of the achievements. I'm actually pretty surprised that I've ONLY played for thirty minutes because the game's inherent lag, barren landscape, and microscopic enemies, you spend most of your time waiting around for the game to load, then waiting more for enemies to show up, then firing an endless stream of missiles at them. The game feels pretty easy from what I've played so far. I had no idea what I was doing, and I often just sat in the middle of enemy fire. The enemies have yet to get to the base, and I have yet to fail a level. You're better off spending your four dollars on literally any other game on this platform.
Terrible. Refund. Next.
